The Experimental Core Facilities for Life Sciences serve as an integral component and supporting platform for life sciences. It comprises a Shared Instrumentation Center and a Laboratory Animal Center (under construction). It aims to provide high-quality technical services and experimental support for life sciences research.
The Shared Instrumentation Center
The Shared Instrumentation Center comprises Optical Imaging sub-Platform, Flow Cytometry sub-Platform, and General Instrument sub-Platform. The Optical Imaging sub-Platform currently offers biological imaging and data analysis services ranging from subcellular structures to tissue morphology, providing visualization technology support for life sciences research; the Flow Cytometry sub-Platform provides advanced equipment and services to perform high-throughput, multi-parameter, high-sensitivity and high-precision quantitative analysis and sorting of cells or particles; the General Instrument sub-Platform provides fundamental instrumentation and technical support for biological experiments.
The Laboratory Animal Center
The Laboratory Animal Center offers an integrated platform for breeding, scientific research, development and application. It provides a range of specialized services, including: breeding of mice and rats; rederivation of mice; generation of transgenic and gene-edited mice; cryopreservation and resuscitation of mouse embryos and sperm; and development of animal models for diseases.
