The Hangzhou Tsientang Education Foundation is the founding body of the Tsientang Institute for Advanced Study.The Foundation was established by Mr. Shanshan Zhong and was approved by the Hangzhou Civil Affairs Bureau in May 2021. The Foundation is dedicated to supporting the development of a high-level private university, attracting world class scholars and exceptional talent, and cultivating leading innovators in frontier scientific research and advanced technological fields. Its mission is to provide intellectual resources and high-level talent to drive economic and social development.
Over the next 10 to 20 years, the Tsientang Education Foundation is set to receive a total donation of RMB 40 billion, all earmarked for the construction and development of this university. To date, the first tranche of RMB 10 billion has been credited to the Foundation’s account, and the Foundation will continue to provide sustained financial resources and support for the university’s development.
We hopes that more visionary individuals will participate in the university’s operation, that more policy support will be extended to encourage entrepreneurs to engage in education initiatives, and that the circulation of social wealth will thus move toward a highly efficient and virtuous cycle.
