The First Academic Exchange Conference of TIAS was successfully held from January 4 to 5, 2025, at the circular lecture hall in Longwu Park in Hangzhou. The conference brought together all TIAS staff, representatives from the Hangzhou Qiantang Foundation, members of the institute's board of directors, and many external experts to discuss cutting-edge developments and future directions in fundamental science.

On the first day, TIAS Deputy President Dongmin Chen delivered the opening speech, officially commencing the conference. Presentations then followed from representatives of various research teams, including the Laboratory of Plant and Environment Interaction Study, the Laboratory of Aging and Regeneration,and the Laboratory of Molecular Genetics and Neurological Diseases. These presentations covered a wide range of fields, encompassing life sciences, physical science, and quantum technology. The afternoon sessions focused on research directions such as atomic-scale material properties, low-dimensional materials, and artificial intelligence. Experts engaged in in-depth discussions on these topics. The day concluded with a celebratory dinner and New Year's address.

The second day featured presentations on the achievements of the Experimental Core Facilities for Physical Science and Life Sciences. Representatives of postdoctoral fellows Yuanhao Lü and Lanting Shi shared their research findings. The afternoon's discussions centered on the Tsientang Materials Laboratory and TIAS' overall development plan, with attendees offering valuable suggestions for the future.
This conference provided a platform for collaboration among researchers and showcased TIAS' significant strength and innovative potential in fundamental science. The successful event marks a substantial step forward in advancing academic progress and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. TIAS will continue its dedication to fundamental scientific research and contribute to the advancement of science.
