Dr. Kehai Liu received his Ph.D. degree from Dalian University of Technology in 2016. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, USA during 2017-2019, as an associate researcher/researcher at Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory in Guangdong Province during 2019-2024, and served as the Deputy Director of ELEM Joint Engineering Center during 2021-2024. Since 2025, he joined the Tsientang Institute for Advanced Study as Associate Professor. His research area focuses on light element materials and devices.
He has led one sub-project of the Guangdong Major Project of Basic and Applied Basic Research, one project of National Natural Science Foundation of China Youth Science Fund, one project of China Postdoctoral Science Fund First Class Grant, and one project of CAST-BISEE Innovation Fund of Beijing Satellite Institute of Environmental Engineering. His research achievements have been recognized with a Second Prize of Liaoning Provincial Natural Science Academic Achievement Award and a First Prize of Dalian Municipal Technical Invention Award. He has published 33 papers in Nature Photonics and other academic journals, and hold 70 granted patents out of 114 applications. Furthermore, he has co-founded two high-tech enterprises, successfully completing Angel/Pre-A round financing with a valuation nearing RMB 400 million.
